Davao (2022) | Davao City’s Smart Traffic System (STS), which was introduced to reduce road traffic congestion, requires updating as it has become operationally inefficient due to the increase in traffic and aging. Thus, the proposal for a New system that overcomes the operational and maintenance challenges of the current STS based on reviews of the current system is expected. In this study, the automatic traffic control system for solving the problems in the current traffic management in Davao City is proposed through the study of local needs, latest technical trends and the related on-going projects. Moreover, to realize the smart city, effective utilization of the data obtained and accumulated by the system is also proposed. |
