Smart JAMP(2022) Study for the Realization of Smart City in Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia
In Siem Reap, a smart city roadmap has been studied with the support of JICA. Last year, 4 priority projects were examined. As the tourism industry is in the midst of a revival, this year's study will examine plans for “Local Tourism Experience Enhancement using AR,” which is a high priority at this time, with the aim of developing tourism policies that the post-COVID digital technology and can be commercialized with the involvement of Japanese companies. A mechanism to consolidate the obtained data into an urban and tourism data platform will also be considered. Through the implementation of the priority project, Siem Reap, an international tourist destination with the World Heritage Site of Angkor, is expected to realize a smart city with the integration of culture and technology.

Smart JAMP(2022) Study on the Introduction of Smart Bus Shelters for the Realization of Smart City in Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia
This project aims to examine the introduction of smart bus shelters in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to promote the use of public buses and contribute to the realization of a smart city in Phnom Penh. The following activities will be carried out based on the results of the feasibility study conducted in the previous fiscal year: experimental implementation in Phnom Penh, proposal of data platform building, and proposal of operational organization. The experimental implementation is to identify potential issues that may arise in the full-scale implementation and to confirm the opinions of not only related authorities but also bus users for the smart bus shelters.

In 2021, Battambang developed a Smart City Master Plan to solve urban issues such as industrial and tourism development, walkable city, and waste reduction and recycling etc. According to this Smart City Master Plan, Battambang considered two priority projects that utilize the technology of Japanese companies. In 2022, we will consider further specific business plan, implementation scheme, and eligibility for participation of Japanese companies of the two priority projects “Clean Sangker Development Project” and “Green Industrial Park”. We work for the realization of public parking, waste management system, smart museum which uses smart technology in Clean Sangker Development Project. And we work for the multiple development including Inland Container Depo, Roadside Station “Michi-no-Eki”, and Agricultural product processed plant in Green Industrial Park.
